Shut Up and Lay Down

This week Barbi, Ami, and I went to Carlsbad for a few days. We ate so much food!! But it was so good!!

We went to Artesia to visit with Aunt Margaret (my Grandpa Buckner's younger sister). She turns 92 in June! I never really knew her before now. She is such an amazing woman. I wish I would have gotten to know her sooner. She told us lots of stories of her and Grandpa. She is so funny! And she is so much like Grandpa! Their mannerisms are so similar I felt like Grandpa was there with us.

A few stories:

Barbi:  How did grandmother Buckner learn to tat and crochet?

Margaret:  Well that's a stupid question. (chuckling)  She knew how her whole life. She was born knowing how. :)

Margaret:  When we were young Jesse, Me, and Claiborne had to sleep in the same bed. They always made me sleep in the middle. Sometimes when I wouldn't go to sleep Jesse would say to me, "Shut and lay down. Shut up and lay down."



I also learned that my Great Grandma Buckner and Aunt Margaret were and are very crafty. They were always making something. 



This pillow was on Aunt Margaret's couch. I want it.  :)
